The Aigle-Martigny 2020 UCI Road World Championships were represented at the Foire du Valais from 27 September- 6 October 2019.
Volunteers recruitment, dialogue, photo contests and a public presentation took place in a studious and friendly atmosphere.
In order to attend this popular and unmissable event in Martigny (Switzerland) in style, a a “bus-booth” proudly wearing our colours was designed.
It will regularly be on display over the course of the coming year.
Many political and sporting figures stopped by to show us their support.
Among them were David Lappartient, President of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) ; Viola Ahmerd, Federal Councillor and Minister for Sport; Beat Rieder, State Councillor; Nuria Gorrite, President of the State Council in the canton of Vaud; Christophe Darbellay, State Councillor in the canton of Valais; and Théo Gmur, triple alpine skiing Paralympic champion.
The Foire du Valais is more successful with each coming year. No less than 420 exhibitors and 233 779 visitors were counted during the 2019 edition.
The 61stedition will take place from 2-11 October 2020, right after the 2020 UCI Road World Championships.
Both events are partners and have been working hand in hand with one another. For example, some of the Foire du Valais infrastructure will be used in the arrival zone of the Road World Championships.
