A committed association and involved public collectivities
The organisation of the 2020 UCI Road World Championships is carried out by an association that was created by the initiators of the bid, which is financially supported by the Swiss Confederation, the cantons of Vaud and Valais, as well as the municipalities of Martigny and Aigle.
Convinced of the positive impact that the event will generate, especially in terms of tourism, economy and sport, public authorities have been significantly contributing to the budget.

The association in charge of the organisation of the 2020 UCI Road World Championships that signed the contract with the UCI is chaired by co-presidents Alexandre Debons and Grégory Devaud. Both were already involved in the early days of the bid.
Corinne Rimet-Baume, who worked for 6 years for the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and was a member of the committee for the Tour de Romandie (12 years) and for the Rallye International du Valais, has been appointed head secretary of the organisation committee.
Richard Chassot, CEO of Chassot Concept and event planner on the Tour de Romandie, is in charge of the event’s sporting aspect.
In order to coordinate the installation of the arrival infrastructures with the Foire du Valais, which will open five days after the World Championships, the committee has been working closely with the FVS Group, who will oversee the arrival area located near the CERM in Martigny.
